Hi there! I'm Kayla, the heart (and hands) behind The Flour Hound Bakery.

If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I've always believed some of life's sweetest moments happen in the kitchen. For me, baking has never been just about making bread or desserts—it's about slowing down, creating something with love, and sharing it with the people around me.

The inspiration behind my love for baking began long before The Flour Hound Bakery ever existed. I grew up watching my grandma and my aunt spend hours in the kitchen creating meals and desserts that brought our family together. They taught me that food isn't just something we eat—it's one of the greatest ways we can show love. Whether it was a homemade dessert after dinner or a loaf of fresh bread cooling on the counter, the kitchen was always filled with warmth, laughter, and memories that I'll cherish forever.

Those moments stayed with me.

Today, every recipe I make carries a little piece of the lessons they passed down to me. Every loaf, every dessert, and every batch is baked with the same care they showed me growing up. Their love for cooking inspired mine, and I hope to continue that tradition by creating homemade baked goods that bring comfort to your own home.

Meet Skeeter, my tiny four-legged sidekick and the inspiration behind The Flour Hound Bakery. While he isn't allowed to sample the baked goods, he's always close by while I'm mixing batter, pulling fresh loaves from the oven, or packaging orders. Around here, we like to joke that every order receives the official Skeeter Seal of Approval before it leaves the kitchen. His curious little personality has become such a special part of this business, and I hope he makes you smile as much as he makes me smile every single day.

When I'm not baking, you'll usually find me spending time with Skeeter, trying new recipes, curled up with a good book, or enjoying the simple, cozy moments that inspired this little bakery in the first place.
